2. They shall refrain from associating with, or allowing the use of their name by, enterprises and/or individuals of questionable character.

3. They shall serve the needs of their clients in the most efficient and cost effective way with fidelity and devotion to high ideas of courtesy and personal honour.

4. If need be, they shall advertise their professional services only in a dignified manner being particularly conscious to avoid misleading statements.

5. They shall maintain strict confidentiality to any information shared with their clients as to their business affairs technical methods and/or processes applied.

6. They shall refrain from using any improper or questionable methods for the solicitation of professional work and shall decline to pay or to receive commissions for securing such work.

7. They shall accept compensations only for specific services rendered. Those compensations should normally originate from one source only, the client. Compensation deriving from more than one source shall be accepted only with the full knowledge and consent of all parties involved.

8. They shall not use unfair means to win professional advancement or to injure the image of another competitive firm. On the contrary, they shall investigate the possibility of finding means and ways of collaboration in order to improve the efficiency and the quality of the professional services rendered to the client.

9. They shall be willing to collaborate in assisting and upgrading the professional services offered to the shipping and marine industries in general, by exchanging general information and experience with the respective entities and/or individuals.

10. They shall be keen to avail their services for the best interest of the public welfare from the aspect of shipping and marine industry on behalf of which they shall be ready to provide their special knowledge, skills, know-how and professional experience.
